CT Coachworks, LLC is a Southern California-based leader in custom vehicle manufacturing, specializing in high-quality specialty vehicles and motor coaches. With over 35 years of combined industry experience, we design and build user-friendly medical vehicles and other custom vehicles that seamlessly integrate proven engineering with modern technology. Every vehicle is crafted with long-term reliability, performance, and usability in mind.

CT Coachworks was founded by husband and wife team Steve and Susan Thomas, whose background began in recreational vehicle manufacturing more than 25 years ago. They previously founded Wolverine Fabricating, a leading manufacturer of lightweight RV sidewalls and laminated luggage door systems, which later became part of a Fortune 500 company. With that experience, they launched CT Coachworks to apply their expertise in custom vehicle manufacturing, focusing on building complete coaches from the chassis up, including specialty vehicles and medical vehicles.

Our 125,000 square foot facility in Riverside, California, sits on seven acres and is fully equipped for in-house production of custom vehicle manufacturing. We specialize in creating medical vehicles and other specialty vehicles, offering services such as CNC fabrication, vacuum bonded fiberglass wall lamination, welding, electrical work, cabinetry, upholstery, and in-house graphics. CT Coachworks holds both manufacturing and dealer licenses, allowing us to build and ship vehicles nationwide. All vehicles are inspected during production and built to California standards and regulations. Every build is backed by a professional three-year warranty and designed to perform for the long haul.
We recently collaborated with CT Coachworks as they expertly engaged in custom vehicle manufacturing, creating a 30ft mobile medical clinic for our nonprofit. This clinic is dedicated to bringing essential care to vulnerable and underserved populations across Los Angeles. The CT Coachworks team was phenomenal throughout the entire process. They not only focused on every detail of the medical vehicle, but they also showed genuine care for our agency and the future patients who would benefit from this specialty vehicle. Their team was approachable and accessible, clearly communicating expectations and needs. We were truly impressed by the final outcome and the thoughtful touches they added, including branded carpets, seats, and more. It’s clear that they deeply care about both the process and the end result, consistently going above and beyond to assist us as we began using the vehicle and navigated various unexpected challenges. They have worked closely with us and continue to ensure that they deliver on every promise. As this was our first mobile clinic, everything was a new experience for us, and I honestly can't imagine partnering with anyone else. We look forward to our next vehicle!
The Morongo Basin Healthcare District selected CT Coachworks from a national public bidding process to build our future mobile medical unit (MMU), showcasing their expertise in custom vehicle manufacturing. CT Coachworks was chosen due to their competitive bid price, nearby location, and extensive background in specialty vehicles. We presented a unique challenge as a client because we required a mobile unit capable of providing both medical and dental services. CT did not disappoint. The final product was a stunning 38-foot diesel “clinic on wheels” that was not only beautiful but also highly functional, complete with numerous upgrades. To say we were thrilled upon delivery would be an understatement. What we didn't anticipate, however, was the ongoing relationship we have enjoyed with Steve, Evelyn, and their team. Over the past two years, we have returned our MMU a few times for minor repairs and staff-requested adjustments, such as additional shelving and equipment installation. Each interaction with this team has been exceptional. They are responsive problem solvers dedicated to customer satisfaction. We cannot express enough how positive our overall experience with CT Coachworks has been.
CT Coachworks has been very supportive of our mission to “help save lives by connecting donors and patients through the gift of blood.” In all our dealings on various projects, the personnel at CT Coachworks have demonstrated their expertise in custom vehicle manufacturing, showcasing their ability to produce reliable medical vehicles. They have been dependable, responsive, flexible, and, moreover, easy to work with. LifeStream values our relationship with CT Coachworks and has greatly benefited from our association, especially in the area of specialty vehicles.
